To certify as a Novel Idea Yellow Belt, the delegate will have to complete one project and pass an exam.

Project Reviews, final assessment, certification and moderation = 2 Hours per Project per Person.

IASSC Certification

To certify as a IASSC Yellow Belt, the delegate will have to write The IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt ExamTM is a 60 question, closed book, proctored exam with a 2 hour allotted time.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training

Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a professional who is well versed in the foundational elements of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology, who leads limited improvement or problem solving projects and / or serves as a team member as a part of more complex improvement projects lead by a Green Belt or Black Belt, typically in a part-time role.

A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt possesses a basic understanding of the elementary aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Method including application competence in the subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control (DMAIC). A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt understands how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma in a skilled yet limited and / or supportive context.

Yellow Belt Training Program Duration: 4 Days of 8 Hours per day = 32 Hours.

IASSC Certification

To certify as a IASSC Green Belt, the delegate will write the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt ExamTM is a 100 question, closed book, proctored exam with a 3 hour allotted time. The Exam contains approximately 20 multiple choice and true/false questions from each major section of the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge.

Novel Idea provides the option to learners who wish to complete the IASSC Certification for students that completed the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training and projects.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training

The Green Belt is expected to deliver the agreed benefits of a Six Sigma project to the organization. These improvement activities will often be within the Green Belt’s usual field of employment and operation. Green Belt participants receive a thorough exposure to the tools and methods that are necessary to successfully contribute to DMAIC improvement projects all environments.

Green Belts:

  1. Training and development of Green Belt in the application of the Six Sigma DMAIC Methodology.
  2. The Program consist of training, application, review, (coaching and assessment) certify process.
  3. It is an active hands -on learning process, that consist of a training component as well as assessment process.
  4. Green Belt candidates must complete two documented improvement projects in order to achieve Green Belt Team Leader certification.
  5. Project coaching and assessment and certification of Green Belts on Work Related Projects.

Outcomes:

  1. Six Sigma Green Belt Project (estimated financial benefit of R150k per project).
  2. Meeting all requirements of the technical utilization as well as practical application within the business environment.
  3. These include the outcomes of the certification requirements.
  4. Green Belt candidates must complete two documented improvement projects in order to achieve the formal Green Belt Team leader certification.
  5. Green Belts candidates must pass the Novel Idea’s Green Belt certification examination upon completion of the training.

Green Belt Training Program Duration: 8 Days of 8 hours per day = 64 Hours. The program takes place over a period of 2 weeks of 4 days per week and over a period of 2 months of 1 week of 4 days per month.

The Exam contains approximately 30 multiple-choice and true/false questions from each major section of the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge.

Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is an individual that are well versed in Six Sigma methodologies and are qualified to serve as agents of change within an organization. Whereas Six Sigma Green Belts are sometimes referred to as the worker bees of the organization, Six Sigma Black Belts are Senior Managers. They are involved in solving complex to advanced problems. The are also involved in talent management. Black Belts must understand team dynamics. They are responsible for assigning roles and responsibilities to team members. They direct and supervise the activities of Green Belts. They are responsible for communicating and implementing changes within the organization that are designed to eliminate deviations from quality standards and improve overall quality and profitability.

Black Belt Training Program Duration: 20 Days of 5 days per week of 8 Hours per day = 160 Hours. The 20 days training takes place over a period of 4 weeks of 5 days per week, over a period of 4 months of 1 week per month.
